Drive deserted streets, not a lonely soul in sight.
Follow the headlights; they touch the fog that layers the night.

Roll down the window and wave goodbye to the way it used to be.

My hand holds the brush that will repaint this picture.
I’ve run from the memories.
But tonight they’ve caught up with me.

The images are bittersweet.
They float out of my head and fade away on the cool breeze.

Hope shimmers on my skin like stardust.
