A raindrop rests on your eyelash
....and as it falls.....
My heart goes with it
(Yes, it falls)
Straight down to my toes
My words melt down with the heat of your stare
and are now stuck,
To the bottom of your shoe
Step gingerly
Even silence hurts
Sometimes more than words themselves
Designs drawn in sidewalk chalk
Are not as vivid as they once were
Stick figures holding hands, colored a bright blue
They are washed away with the rain
Never to be seen again
I reach for my dreams
but my eyes burn from the pepper spray
and I blindly lash out at empty air
Sometimes I wish I could hate you
or at least be a little angry
But with those hands you could strangle me
Then I would be blessed with the fingerprints of the adorable
Each one of them unique
And completely you
I wish I could be everything you want me to be
I’m walking through 6 feet of loneliness
And no, I don’t really want to talk about it.
Her outline is bold, full of secrets you’ll never know.
You walk right by, glance back for a second look and she’s gone
My hands are empty and my fingers are cold
It’s a one second sunrise, don’t blink or you’ll miss it.
